Minister Rewarded

The Rev Canon Alan Robson MSc receiving his Fellowship  from the Countess of Wessex.  Her Royal Highness Countess Sophie.


Alan said,  “HRH was utterly charming and spent considerable time chatting to everyone who were gathered on the Terrace at the House of Lords on Wednesday 10th February she understood the issues surrounding farming and food in great detail”. Baroness Hazel Byford was our host and HSBC Bank sponsored the refreshments.


The Fellowship (FRAgS - Fellow of the Royal Agricultural Societies of England) is awarded by ‘peers’ within the agricultural industry these include researchers, political figures from various national and international bodies, educationalist and folk who have developed outstanding food businesses as farming entrepreneurs across UK.


Alan was awarded for his work across Lincolnshire setting up Lincolnshire Rural Support Network (LRSN). Also as the one who was instrumental in the development of EPIC - (environment, people, innovation, choices) the £7m eco–building on the Agricultural Showground. Also for his engagement with a few other groups  locally and nationally regarding food security and sustainable food supply chains.


Alan remarked; “It was a huge privilege to receive this award and so enjoyable as Faye my daughter was able to join me the other chaps from Lincolnshire Matthew Taylor ( Bulb grower near Spalding and regular commentator in farming press) Sean Sparling (Agronomist and Magician! He also is an outstanding after dinner speaker and radio presenter on farming issues)
